It is essential to use real-world data when comparing the performance of NILM techniques. Producing real-world data sets can be time consuming, costly, and potentially inconvenient to collect. Researchers are starting to publicly release their data sets, enabling other researchers to compare their approaches against common benchmarks. The following data sets are currently available:
